2006 Reserve Series Meritage
VQA
Niagara Peninsula | |
Viticulture/Vinification The grapes for our 2006 Reserve Meritage were grown in a select group of vineyards in the Niagara Peninsula. This Meritage is a blend of two noble grape varietals, Merlot (70%) and Cabernet Franc (30%). Fermented on skins for 15 days, MLF and ageing in barrel.
|
Vintage Conditions Vintage 2006 was characterized by a summer of long sunny days and fall cool evenings allowing for a slow ripening of the fruit, maximizing flavours and colours in the berries' skins contributing to strong varietal characteristics.
|
Tasting Notes Thie wine displays dark fruit and a hint of vanilla on the nose. Blueberry and spice flavours are supported by firm tannins for an extended finish.
