The 2024 vintage began with vines in peak condition, settling into winter dormancy strong and healthy, so when Spring arrived warmer than usual, accelerating bud development. By mid-November, harvest wrapped, but the season wasn’t quite over. Icewine grapes remained on the vines until early in the new year, where they were picked under textbook conditions. This year, nature was kind—minimal losses to dehydration, wind, or birds, which can often be a challenge. As the cycle closed, vines returned to dormancy in pristine condition, setting the foundation for another remarkable vintage to come.

Grapes for this 50th anniversary Riesling Icewine were harvested at frigid -10 C. After pressing a small amount of concentrated liquid the juice was settled, racked and inoculated. Fermentation was done at a cool 15 C for 21 days until a balance of sugar, alcohol and acidity remained.

The 50th Anniversary Inniskillin Riesling Icewine has notes of citrus ,lemon grass, and honey dew melon on the nose. While on the palate, citrus and lime flavours highlights the fresh acidity. This was a balanced vintage that truly brought high concentration and lots of ripeness to this Icewine. Extra care was taken when selecting this block to highlight the intensity and acidity that the Niagara River appellation brings to this Icewine.

2024 50th Anniversary Riesling Icewine pairs well with a plethora of deserts such as key lime pie, lemon tarts and even a classic New York cheesecake. Rich Foie gras and Pâté are and excellent pairing or charcuterie board with rich cheeses.
